I started my master’s degree immediately after graduating college. However, I felt it was important to gain practical experience in addition to my academic training. I completed an intership at Citi Field under Bill Deacon before moving on to two full-time positions in professional baseball, with the Gwinnett Braves and Pittsburgh Pirates. I also worked one year building and renovating baseball fields.
I lean heavily on my practical experience and will continue to do so. I understand the daily grind of being a sports turf manager. This helps me focus on real challenges and lends credibility with students and professionals.
